Training
The Diocese works with the Local Authorities and other Dioceses to provide the best service possible. This ranges from direct contact with schools to providing resources to support them. The Diocese has a wide range of material available which complements and extends the Locally Agreed Syllabus in exploring the more specifically Christian aspects of RE, Spiritual Development and Church School distinctiveness through its curriculum and practice.
The Diocese welcomes an ecumenical approach and works extensively to promote dialogue amongst the network of faith communities, both within the Diocese and further afield. This is rooted with its membership of the Standing Advisory Committee for Religious Education (SACRE) for several Local Authorities.
Members of the Advisory team work with The National Society to promote Religious Education through training and resources, as well as a significant input into the SIAS Inspection process.
